Class Time

Religious Education classes are held on Tuesdays from 6:15 to 7:30 PM at St. Stanislaus School on Smith Street and Home Avenue, Trenton. Please be sure to have the children arrive on time. The children go directly to their assigned classroom, where their teacher and aide will wait for them. For safety purposes, we have a "sign in/out" procedure for all students.  Parents must sign their child(ren) in prior to the start of class and then sign them out at the end of class.  The "sign in/out" sheets will be in the classrooms.

Sacramental Preparation

Sacramental Preparation is a two-year program. The sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist are celebrated in Grade 2.  The Sacrament of Confirmation is conferred in Grade 8 every year.

Religion Curriculum

The RCL Benziger Be My Disciples series will be the religious text used in Grades K through 6.  Grades 7 and 8 will continue to use Sadlier We Live Our Faith middle school texts.  The textbook is the primary tool used in the classroom.  In addition, the children are exposed to many religious activities, such as Evening Prayer, Stations of the Cross, praying the rosary, researching the Lives of the Saints, and much more.

Sunday Mass

It is expected that families will attend weekly Mass.  Families have the opportunity to worship in their primary language whether it is English, Polish or Spanish. Families are encouraged to participate in the designated Family Mass throughout the year.

Volunteer catechists, aides and office assistants staff the program.  Catechists must complete the Certification Program of the Diocese of Trenton and maintain certification throughout their teaching years. If interested, please contact the Coordinator. For the safety of the children all catechists, aides and office assistants must be fingerprinted and have a background check completed by the New Jersey State Police.

Virtus Program

The children will participate in the "Safe Environment Program" as outlined by the Diocese of Trenton.  Parents have the option to have their child(ren) "opt out" of the program.
